I have a 2wx5t" stock frame and 2 1/2" between floor and pinch. My question is would 2x2x1/4" be best to accomplish this or is there something better? Any help would be great.

2x2 is weak for a frame. 2x3 with a half inch channel would be "best". You can get away with 2x2, but it means bracing the hell out of it.
