lift problems

I have a 96 chevy 1500 body dropped on 22's with can-do upper and lower a arms. I couldn't get enough lift to clear the tires and i finally found out why. Well my upper a arms are bottomed out on the spindle. The a arm is hitting the spindle where it comes up to hold the caliper. Has anyone had this problem?? I think i am gonna notch the spindle where the a arm is hitting it....unless you guys think otherwise. thanks

man thats crazy, the arms i built for those trucks get more travel than the stocks....
