Quick Update...

It's been a while, so I thought I'd pop in an see whats up w/ everyone. Same as most of y'all...log in issues have been pissing me off, so I limited my D.S. time to lurking a few times a week. Looks like Baha may be getting a handle on it...well see. I hope so, because it'd be nice to see some fresh postage from some O.G's.

Been working on the Casa mostly. Campy Sr. lost his job, and in turn, is losing his house (bastards at BOFA received one of the largest bailouts, but won't do anything for my folks...but that's another story), so we've been busy putting in RV hookups in so they can live in their RV at our place until a more permanent situation is available. Remodeled the bathroom...did a lot of painting...some dirtwork...blah, blah, blah.

Took a brief hiatus from the Sled for a while. Trans went bad. I got disgusted w/ it, so I parked it. I've been driving the Sub (on a side note, lots of freeway miles are hard on M/T tires ). Mrs. Campy wants her rig back, so I pulled the Sled up into the garage this weekend. Gonna pull the front end off and yank the motor/trans. I figure while I have the trans out, I may as well rebuild the motor. Two birds w/ one stone sorta thing.

Also, I figure since I will have the front clip off anyway, I'll go ahead and swap on the '84 clip from the parts truck. Depending on how ambitious I'm feeling, I may swap over the power doors as well...then it's time to get ready for paint.

That's about it in a nutshell. I'll post pics when I have something exciting to show.

hey tell your ol'man I feel his pain do to the lack of work over the last 2years I dont have enough hrs in to get enough uneployment to servive so I'm liven in the garage at my parents (Its fu^king beyond rad........ not!)

Sorry to hear about your parent's, I wondered if that was what was going on at Casa de Campy.

It is to bad that us Americans are to stupid to see what we are doing to our country and economy by constantly shopping by price. We practically force companies to outsource jobs to sell their products, then the lost jobs trickle up to more skilled labor. You see an .18 rollback and wal-mart and think "cool save a little money", never mind it cost 300 people a pay raise or even their jobs. Everyone wants to blame politicians and ceos but they are only giving us what we want.

Dunno Husk, I say there's plenty of blame to go around on both sides of supply and demand. The CEO's and such will gladly outsource production of goods for short term gains, surely they're smart enough to know that in the end it spells doom for our country but what do they care if they get their profits? Then yes, on the other hand, we have a choice (but the pickin's are getting slimmer every day) about what we buy, sure, we could all refuse to buy chinese-made crap but there's just no way you can convince everybody it's a bad idea. We're the minority in this situation...just like soon thanks to immigration policies, we'll be minorities in this country too...

Getting ready to be 3rd world around here, sounds alarmist to say it, but only if you're not paying attention.
