fuel cell problems

i am having a hard time plumbin my fuel cell i get two opening and no sump one on top and one on back side bottom but i got three lines comin from the carb and i have a manual fuel pump on side of motor but i can net get the fitting around here to make it work what have you all done...oh its a plastic 16g RCI from jegs should i sell it and get a diffrent one???

one is feed, 1 is return and i'm not sure about your 3rd.. sorry. feed is usually bottom port, return would prob be the top of the cell.. the other opening in the top is usually a vent if you have that option.

louis, sup bro. ok here is what they should be. bottom is feed (when its a manuel fuel pump) return is on top, and the last one is just a vent for the 3rd one.

ya but i only have two openings on the cell

the largest diameter = supply to carb

the middle diameter = return from carb/pump (sometimes its on the carb, sometimes it is tagged off the pump)

the smallest diameter = recovered vapor return from charcoal canister. DO NOT PLUG it, but you can remove the charcoal canister (your truck will smell a little like gas fumes in the summer), you can just leave the line lose (same gas smell) or you can just plumb it to the new cell by adding a fitting to the top. They sell fittings for fuel cels at the roundy round shops.

so wait a min i can do away with the charcoal canister cause there is like alot of room i can recover from removing it but what do i do about the lines

sure you can, its only there to keep your truck from smelling like gas (actually it is there to keep gas fumes from entering the air, the byproduct being that it will not smell like gas on warm days like old cars do)

plug the lines, vacuum or otherwise. Its pretty self explainatory once you start disconnecting it.

what else on them motors can go???? its the 2.2l carburated engine

you yank it out and do a 350 swap lol but i think alot can go if you what your doing
