squarebody dash

ok squarebody gods, i want to paint the dash in my square, and need to know if the dash is bolt in or spot welded? it would be so much easier to paint out of the truck if possible. thanks for the help.

Both. It's bolted and welded.

I've never personally experienced it, but I've heard it's a royal bitch pulling the dash sheetmetal out of these trucks. IIRC, you need to remove the windshield because the top of the dash has a lip that is spot welded along that lower windshield seam.

You're probably going to be better off painting it inside the cab.

I was planning on taking all of the glass out anyway to replace the rubbers and window channels.
