trying to figure out if i should buy a cheap flux core mig welder , or a sheet metal stitcher to do body work,floorpans...etc
i can get a harbor freight mig welder for 130ish... the welder is 70ish
has anybody used a sheet metal stitcher before?
i have a arc welder already... seems like it would do a good job... the eastwood company actually recommends you use a stitcher on sheet metal for vehicles...the only drawback is that you have to buy these tiny welding rods...
Save your money and buy a good new/used mig welder. If you are going to use it for small sheetmetal and bosy work applications, a Lincoln 175 works great and you can also weld some thick stuff with it also.
I would suggest Miller, Lincoln, or Hobart. You can pick up either of these that will work for your application off eBay for around 400. If you want a Miller I can hook you up because the Miller rep of our area is my neighbor.
