When my truck is cold in the morning or if its been sitting for a while when i go to start it up it takes a while to start. Does anyone else have this problem i was thinking its just a tune up that needs to be done. I also noticed it cranks and cranks and when the oil pressure jumps up it fires up.

what engine do you have? these trucks are notorius for injectors leaking down in them causing the hard start issue. use the search feature for"injectors" here, we have gone through this before, and maybe it will help you too. later, brian

Usually though the injector or fuel pressure regulator issues are a warm/hot start problem. I've got that with my '98 7.4, but when it's cold, man it busts off even before the engine finishes the first revolution BEWM it's running. When it's hot, you can just about kill the battery turning that bitch over, then it stumbles to life and shits out a big black cloud of unburned fuel.

I'd start by checking the fuel pressure. Let us know the #'s with just turning the key on, then while cranking, and while running.
