Stupid idea with a ford?

My car dealer friend has got a 07 ford f250 on his lost, it only has like 25,000 miles on it. It's a fairly plain regular cab work truck with the 5.4 but does have pw, pl, cc, ac, and towing package. It is missing the bed. I thought it would be kinda neat to get it and shorten the frame and throw a short bed on it, give it a static drop and some nice rims. He's asking like $10,000 for it, and I could probably get a short bed and tailgate from him for that price also. Or I thought I could convert it to a dually and make a slammed reg cab dually.

Dumb idea, brilliant or some where in between?

SEems like a good price for a v8 truck. Do you wanna put that much work in it?

I don't think it would be all that much work, IDK. Shorten frame, bolt on static drop, bolt on wheels, drop in some nice carpet and seats, throw my stereo in and drive the wheels off.

IDK what I think of the 5.4?
