Well after some deep thinking about the reg cab turd I had to do 2 days of body work for on another turd I shit canned the reg cab all together. The reason I did this was because the pass side frame was ate away with nothing but rust,,,,,enough to eat the frame away from the fuel tank to the rear of the frame....so I got rid of it and I am picking up a 82 crew cab 3x3 dually with a 454 w/auto trans.....the body needs work but I am keeping an open mind for my long term goals and plans! The truck as some rusty doors and the kicker panels down below need to be replaced but over all the truck is alot more sound and I feel more safer driving this one then the reg cab turd.
My goals and plans for this new 82 are bags on 22.5s and a turbocharged 454 or maybe a carbed LS7 with a turbo on it backed up with a T-56 6 speed trans....tho I am not totally sold on the 6 speed because I want to use the truck for towing still and that wouldnt be a good trans to do that with.....If I do the 6 speed then it will be a highway/street strip truck and then I will buy a newer dually for towing..........However I am leaning more with a nice Alum headed 454 with turbo grind cam nice intake and blow thru carb with either a single T-88 or twin 60-1 turbos backed with a th400.....With that said I am not gonna build a total show truck because although they are badass lookin and all and I know alot of you still tow trailers with them.....but thats just not my style....new never done before is more my style and what im about so thats where I will be headed with this truck.....
I will be posting some pics when I pic up my new dually on friday as thats when the guy gets back into town from work.....But I did go look at it today and told him I will pick it up on friday so he can sign the title over to me then....so I will keep everyone posted!
