new cab floor?

How do you attach the subframing for a new cab floor? Most of my floor is rusted and needs to be replaced anyways. And I have seen a few on here done nicely, but don't know exactly where to weld to under the door frame.

I cut out my entire floor, then plug welded some angle iron to each side of the door sill. That was used for a base for my tubing to run on for my floor.

what would be a good thickness sheet to use? And I really don't want to go with that much tubing if possible. Would it be possible to use a thicker sheet with a little less bracing?
