Im gettin 2 AZs put in my truck monday. The people at the shop were sayin AZs draw a lot of amps from the battery. I think they said Viair is really good, too.
2 viairs are better than one AZ, but two AZ are worlds better than a viair dual pack. when you compare compressor to compressor, the AZ is better, but most people only buy ONE AZ instead of two viairs and are subsequently disappointed.

You're going to get biased opinions about both. And you'll get opinions from people who have run only one brand.
My opinion is this. I had an AZ. It did its job just fine, for about 10 days. It stopped doing its job when I was at Drop Zone. And luckily I was able to pick up a ViAir 380. So far, the 380 is about as fast as the AZ was, and is much quieter and I can't feel it through the whole truck.
I have already dealt with ViAirs customer service, talked to Lance Martz and he was a great help, and a really cool guy. I can't say I've talked with anyone at AZ about my problem, because they don't return emails, or my phone calls.
I'm buying another ViAir.
Edit- My opinion is also biased, by my situation. Take each "review" with a grain of salt and use it to make your decision.
yeah if i buy either im buying two. and i would get 480s if i bought viair. but i heard theres new az with fans on them?
I'm running a 480 viair & my son runs AirZ he has had to send it back 3 times now. And as for the Air Z being louder yes I can hear him comming down the street. LOL I use N2 most of the time but when I need it it works ever time.

It wasn't the sound of the compressor that bugged me really, it wasn't THAT loud. It was the vibrations. Every time I turned it on it felt like a bad driveline vibration at high speed. It made my doors and hood pulsate.
makes me laugh. new company comes out and everyone is in love with these new compressors. then all of a sudden majority is having problems. My question.... why not just stick with a company that has been suppling air ride compressors forever and that is the standard.
