68 chevy engine question
ok guys, Im fixin to start on my 68 c-10 it has the origional strait 6 in it with only 100,000 origional miles...it was running when i parked it several years ago but needs work now...I have a 305 out of a 86 monte carlo that runs good.....should I try to keep the origional motor in it, just to be different, or throw in the v8???? what do you guys think???
id try to fix the strait 6.its org and difrent and everyone puts small blocks in them.besides all 305's are good for is a boat Anchor
THANKS...THATS KINDA WHAT i WAS THINKING...i had decided to put the 306 in it cause it runs really good, but i got to thinking hell ya never see one with the origional strait6 rolling around.. especially ones that have a lot of work done to them...anyways its not like either option is gona be fast.
Turbocharge that Stovebolt! Clifford Performance are the straight six pros.
yeh fix up the straight six esp if u can find some of the old performance parts like offenhauser triple carb intake
well i'm definately on a budget,a big chunk is gona be spent on suspension , so if I can just get it to running and looking good it'll get me by untill I can afford to do more...I do know Im gona have to have a new carb for it,I have checked into clifford performances products already' and their stuff is sick
thanks for the advice guys...im definately thinking the stright6 is the way to go....hmmmm..now what to do with the 305...maby i'll se about puting it im my 88 s-dime ,its got a little 2.5 4cyl
