Tweeding a Shifter Boot

Any tricks on laying tweed down on a shifter boot or making a new one of some sort. I got rid of the original rubber boot. If it is easier to get a stock one and cover it I can do that. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also any pics of people's boots that they did. Thanks! ~Angie

Your best bet will be the make a pattern and stitch it. IF that wont work for ya you can cover one but make sure you glue it well where the seam is.

Ok I thought about just stitching it but it would get soaked from the bottom in. (Right now with no boot I get to watch the sparks come into the cab lol). I think I would have to get a stock one or a thin piece of rubber and figure it out some how.

My truck had the rubber shift boot, and a rubber seal under it, but no trim ring. I took the rubber shift boot off and stitched together a tweed one real quick. I just left the rubber seal underneath.

Since your's has nothing at all I'd at least try finding a factory seal at least, from a junk yard or someone, then just put a tweed boot over it.

There is a company on my ranger site that makes them vehicle specific. Not bad priced either. JIMMY

put the rubber one back on so that it is sealed up. measure out 4 triangles of tweed sew them together and on the last seam stitch in some hook and loop velcro and you have a twed shifter boot.
