so i'm makin another 4link(for an s-blazer) and putting firestone 2600's on the bars. i made bars that are 27" center to center on the bolts, they are running outboard the frame. wacked off the stock perches, made new ones and put them higher on the frame. question is i could have made the bars 30" maybe even 31" and ran them close to the body mounts, would i have benefited more from that when it comes to ride quality? the uppers are triangulated from the top of a bar over the pumpkin out toward the frame to a crossmember if that helps.

That is a good question, but really tough to explain.

There are many things that effect ride quality, but bar length isn't really one of them.

Bar angle, shock valving, bag blacement, bag size, vehicle weight, unsprung weight, tire profile, suspension geometry

These things will effect ride and each of them in their own way, but not bar length... in theory.
