removing portion of door

on a 98 s10 how do you remove the portion of the door with the fabric from the rest of the door? it looks like it is just held on with melted plastic but i dont want to take it off and not be able to get it back on. so what is the correct way to take off the portion of the door with fabric from the rest of the door? also how would you put it back on?

just drill the melted plastic but dont drill to much when u go to put it back on u can use screws to hold it back
