self diagnostic

can a self diagnostic be done on an 01 Sierra? I know older models you can jump the diagnostic plug and count the flashes of the service light, but not sure if this can be done on a newer model.

nope.. but if you bring it to autozone they will hook it up to the code reader they have and will tell you what the code is and its free
