leaf springs

this maybe a really really really dumb question but is it possible or even worth doing. moving the leaf hangers back far enough so that i lay from or is it not a good idea at all let me know thanks.. also i do not lay on the pavement with my 13"s but it would on my pathfinders whats with that.. thanks guys
