i have been pondering using a pair of nitrous bottle(nos or Nx)as air tanks, either that or a pair of scuba tanks as air tanks. i have searched and scarched to find out what volume in gallons a 10lb and 15 lb bottles would have. so i ask you guys the same thing what would volume be. any help would be great.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do have a little insight: most air tanks have individual ports for each valve assembly and the compressor input, while the bottles you're talking about have only one port. You can tee them out to several lines, but your system will be slower because each corner will be fighting for air supply.
Just food for thought- good luck!

the green s10 that was on cover of MT(like 2 or so years ago) on the 22 in lexanis had NOS bottles for air tanks. a 15lb bottle looks like itll be about a couple gallons of air.

they use air to compress the nitrous into the bottles.. i have talked to a shop that does nitrous refills and he can use compressed air to pump just compressed air into n20 tanks and it would be like having 2200 psi of compressed air.. then stick an electric bottle valve on it.. hook it to your tank and you can open or close it to fill the tank and then have your valves on it like normal.

well plan was to use the ports that already come on the tanks for the compressor inputs, and drill and tap other holes in certin places to each tank a 5 port. i was just wondering about how many gallons that would make. mainly just to do something new. soon i will be going to welding school and when i return, fabing up new and interesting things won't be a prob.

I think I would use a bung rather than tapping a hole in an air tank

not necessarly because you can drill and tap for new ports if you wanted too

Definetly would drill a hole and weld in a bung rater than drilling and tapping a hole. just have to make sure and get a NPT bung
