ok, i've thought this inside and out. Do i even need check valves on my bag lines? Even if i do blow a bag or a line, the check valve's going to let the pressure from the tank out, so i'll still lose all my air pressure, which won't keep the other bags from deflating. Dammit, i think i wasted about $100 AGAIN.
Hold on man, If you blow a bag, you will be fine.
I assume you have 8 valves. if the bag blows, you just lose that corner, not the whole system.
I am not sure why you would put check valves on each corner.
You only need one between the tank & compressor.
A check valve at each conner is just a good safety thing, won't help if bag blows, but will for line,or valve failure!Except dump valve.

bingo.
I have my check valves right after the fill valves. Now if I have a problem with my lift valve or a leak anywhere in the system I won't get the sinking ship problem. Most valves need back pressure from both sides to stay closed so if you loose pressure in your tank, even though you have 8 valves they will slowly leak down. I had this problem so bad at one time that in 3 hours my truck would go from full lift to layed out. The only leak I had at that time was a crack in the threads of the tank. The tank would empty in about an hour and then the fill valves didn't have any pressure to keep them shut so they would seep air back into the tank. That is the sinking ship at its best.
my .02 cents.

If you already have the check valves I would use them. It isnt a waste of bengi's. I agree with RUSSD water traps are a waste of time and $$. You are way better off draining the water out of your tank frequently to get rid of the moisture.
I put my check valve on the tank on the inlet side and the water trap right before it. Now everytime the compressor kicks of the pressure in the compressor bleads off and then my water trap empties. That way I don't have to worry about it getting full.

well, he just said they were a waste of money to put them between the comps and the tank, i'm going to use them between the tank and the valves because all my ports are used up and i don't have a drain plug. Thanks for all the advise, peeps. I just wish i'd have thought about all this before i spent the dough on it, like everything else.
