Deep cell and the starter/deep cell.. you need the starter deep cell or they will die on you very soon driving your truck. if you get the right one, you wont have any problems with them.
red tops are nice. i'll be running a red top in my nisssan.
Thank you, Optima Yellows are great for the road, compressors, audio. Great batteries
Yellow tops are awesome batteries for when your CAR is off. Not running. They are good for beating at shows and shit like that.
Red tops are great STARTING BATTERIES.

They make a Yellow top that IS a starting battery along with being the type of deep cell that lets you have everything off and still baeting and stuff. you just have to get the RIGHT one.
There's only one type of Yellow Top,as per the Optima rep at the GoodGuys show!
i just got a yellow top and so far ive been very happen with it...
starts and works great both on and off lol weird to say but it gets my vote.
had my share of yellow tops, ive ran through 2 yellows and 1 red, It is true that for some reason, if you let them drain they end up having a bad cell and its a bitch to charge back fully even if they do but overall they are awesome batteries and coming from me that has had as many problems out of them, thats saying something lol, Now.. A nice co-op battery is doing my car,10 tvs and system perfect, cranks and runs it perfect without any problems

at least a yr or so ago they made 2 types of Optima yellow tops.. dont know if they do now b/c i look just for the starter/deep cell yellow top.
what about running 2 batteries and using an isolator? any thoughts on this(good/bad idea)??
Optimas are a decent battery but I dont think they are worth the $. For the $ there are better performance batts out there. I have also seen alot of dead cells on optimas
wow, cant believe no one has said anything about the optima blue tops. they are marine batteries and are made to start big motors after sitting in the sun listening to the radio all day. if i didn't have 4 yellow tops already i would switch to blues. the reason you hear stories about people who cant get optima's to charge or have blown a cell is because they dont trickle charge them. yellow's are deep cycle batt's they need a 2 amp trickle charge for about a day and a half.
