with one is better and has anyone used the 480c how are thay compaired to the 450c thanks
They're different animals, why would you compare a 150 PSI pump to a 200 PSI pump? The 450C is optimized to get to 150 PSI as quickly as possible and still be considered to be 100% Duty Cycle. The 450C has a pedigree of being a tank, and will last for a long time.
The 480C is rated to 200 PSI and is very close to the 450C in performance up to 150 PSI. Where the 480C shines is not only its ability to pump to 200 PSI regularly, but it also doesn't pull higher amps at higher pressures. This is due to the same build principles as the 450C. Get to 150 PSI as quickly as possible, but slow down to preserve compressor life at higher pressures.
Both compressors are built to perform well for long term use. While I don't believe that the two compressors should be compared - they are both excellent units for air suspension. They just have different purposes is all.
Another thing, if you need 200 PSI - go with the 480C (or the 380C) and use it all the way up to 200 PSI. You don't have to ever worry about running it short. 480Cs and 380Cs were designed to do 200 PSI - so operate them that way!
VIAIR pumps tend to last, if they're installed correctly and used within the parameters that they were designed to be used within.
Hope that helped some!
Also viar sold the rights to the 450.Airlift makes that compressor now.I can't tell a difference though.

Not true. AirLift is the only company that sells the CHROME 450C. VIAIR doesn't sell the 450C in chrome to anyone but AirLift.
We still sell 45040 - which is a silver bodied 450C. They sell very well, and have been a reliable product.
Who told you that VIAIR sold rights to anyone? This is an agreement between VIAIR & AirLift giving them an exclusive, that's all.

That sounds more reasonable. Theres no way that they would just sell the rights to Airlift and let Airlift make them. That's my opinion anyway.
I've got 2, and run them to 180 psi all day. Fills 15 gallons pretty quickly.
And it throws my sh*t around.
i have 2 450's in my truck ..they r tanks and work great ..and i have 2 380's in my car and run it at 165 to 170 psi and it works great ..its all bout preference ..
well Lance since you work there, what would be the fill time difference in 2 380's vs. two 480's? on one single 5 gallon tank and also if I added another 5 gallon tank?

(I can't find my data on 380C on 10 gallons, but I'll look.)
I'm running outta posts for this month, guess I'd better agree to the advertising rates! ~
