I am in the market for a new dually, or a couple years old, and wondering what you guys thought on which one to get. I will be using it to be a daily driver mostly and will haul a trailer with two to three trucks on it. Looking for a diesel but I could get a big block gas. I wanted to know which one would be best and which one will have more problems with it. Which one is better on power and which one will have more drivetrain problems.
Oh boy...you just blew open the proverbial floodgate of opinion.
Nothing definitive will come of this.
Good luck.
Thanks but I need to know the problems with each since I am a poor college guy. Only thing I know about each is the dodge have problems with running through trannys since at the dealership, they have trannys all over the place
Eh...despite popular opinion, they're all pretty much the same. They all do the same thing, and they all make decent power.
Just pick whichever flavor you like.
P.S.: I think Dodge got the whole tranny thing figured out in 99...but don't quote me.
Id say that its a machine and you will always have issues. None is better than the other...its all preference. That being said, however, I bet the chevys are the cheapest to repair.
A educated guess....
I don't think I'd bet much on that.
Here is my opinion on the matter. They are all about the same. Gonna have more power than you'll ever really need. If having it fixed by the dealer I would find the one you like the best and has the best rep. I would buy from the guy that is gonna stand behind it. The one that will be the easiest to get worked on, and that will vary by area.
Just my 2 cents
Chevy man myself but ford is the most reliable for work.... Ugly but good for work.
I love my 7.3 ford, it pulls like a champ with a two place loaded, the 6.0 fords are pullers to but you cant hop them up with out head studs, but I think the dodge would make the best tow pig.
yeah I'm with him^^. Maybe harder to lower and the trans thing has been worked out. But nothing beats the power of a cummings for the money..
