Wheel and Tire help ...
So I have a '96 Chevy Crewcab Dually and I want it laying frame on 19s ... The guy at the local wheels shop told me they can't get a load rated 19 inch tire much less 19 inch dually wheels (Told me they can only get 16s, 22.5s, or 24.5s) ... I also want to be able to pull my 33 foot tag along camper with it ... So my question ... Can I safely tow my 33 foot camper and lay frame with 19s without it costing me $10,000 in custom wheels and tires?
you cant get a low profile tire for a 19 that is load rated but eveyone runs them anyway. you can get suv/small truck tires that have extra load rating over a passanger car tire i believe and i think thats what most people run. but idk alot about that kind of stuff so i could be wrong
look for somethign with a load index rating of around 97 or higher and you shouldnt have any problems
go to brentzwheels.com he has a bunch of different style 19's for duallies. and does anyone really run a load rated tire just the chance you take to be custom.
You will have no problem towing with the 19s. I have customers that pull campers, trailers, and scrap trailers with 19s up to 24s on them and havent had any complaints. With the 19s a 245/40/19or 225/50/19 will do the job, but the key is matching the inner 16 with the right tire or just running all 6 19s.
Just put 19s of Trevs on my dually, I tow and they fit with a little fender lip work.
They fit good and ride like a dream....
They look good in person, too.
Its far from laying frame....kinda like a 4x4 compared to the rest of the boys on here.
The front is an inch from sitting on the concrete. The back is....far from the concrete...
That's for the help guys ... Looks like I'll be calling Trevor next week sometime ...
