Any body got one? pics? I want to build the frame for one before building my actual truck frame to get a feel of lining things up, cutting, and all that stuff. May sound stupid, but I think it will help a lot. So post em up and lets see what everybody did.

Also, list how your setup is done if you don't mind sharing with everyone. I want to do a rear drive lawnmower motor, so I really dont need "brakes" just once the gas is released it starts stopping. This means the rear axle will move nonstop though. How are you just baggin the rear, and front as well.? Thanks ahead of time!

ACTUALLY I THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA. IVE BEEN KICKING AROUND THE IDEA OF BUILDING A GO CART FRAME FOR THAT VERY SAME REASON. NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE I WANT TO BUILD A FRAME FOR MY TRUCK, BUT JUST TO BETTER MY SKILLS I GUESS YOU COULD SAY. LUCKILY MY NEIGHBOR HAS A FEW GO KARTS WITH FULL BLOWN A-ARM SUSPENSION ON THAT I CAN STEAL DIMENSIONS OFF OF AND MAKE IT WORK FOR WHAT I WANT IT TO DO. IM UP IN THE AIR THOUGH FOR EITHER LONG TRAVEL SET UP OR AIR...I DUNNO. IVE LOOKED INTO BUILDING A LAWN MOWER...ITS SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE EASIER TO USE A MOTOR CYCLE ENGINE. AND BUILD IT SIMILAR TO A CAR WITH THE ENGINE IN FRONT AND THE CHAIN AS A 'DRIVELINE'. EITHER WAY ITS A GOOD IDEA I THINK!

I have thought about this. I would make the back of the frame pivot like a two link. I'd mount the motor and axle on the back half that pivots, that way you can keep tension on the chain, otherwise you will pop it off all the time, or snug it up too tight and fuck shit up. It sucks to toss a chain doing like 30 plus. Especially if it hits you first and you gotta go find it.

For the front, you could build your own control arms and use ready made spindles and mount a bag to them somehow. You'll only really be able to ride it at one height though because of the way gokart steering generally works.

Unless you make it crossover steering. I've done this to karts and it makes them more fun to drive, I think its a better setup than the standard. But you know..

You can also get a mini rack and pinion thats made for karts if you want.

YEAH THATS HOW MY NEIGHBORS GO-KARTS ARE SET UP IN THE FRONT. A-ARM SUSPENSION WITH MINI RACK AND PINION STEERING.

I actually have some plans for something similar to that. I was going to build a 1/2 scale roadster pickup with a bike motor. I had a couple to choose from at the time. I have planbs for a chassis with links front and rear and coilovers with an adjustable height. I never got aroudn to building it, because I figured it would be better to just build a full scale one and register it...

Seth, I kind of get what you are saying about the back half being on a pivot behind the "driver" seat so that the front moves seperate than that, but I don't see how that would be adjustable? I don't want to throw a shit load of money into this, but more just to see if I should worry about baggin my truck, or just drop it for a while first. No sense in ruining a truck frame when I can ruin a golf cart frame.

Make a bag mount that would push up on the whole rear clip at once. Mount it to the back of the seat, or beside it, whatever works.
