where does everyone get their balljoint s out to lay on 20's? asking for a friend so the more info the better. thanks in advance!
i was able to lay 20's with the stock ball joints and spindles.i'm currently useing S-10 ball joints now because my sway bar is mounted on the upper control arms and i wanted some thing stronger.
good to hear. i have a set of s10 joints sitting around that will work for him. thanks rudy
the ball joint will fit the spindle (top) on the stock one and top and bottome on a drop spindle but you will need to shim the upper with 2 or 3 washers( you'll know what i mean when you slip the upper ball joint into the spindle and start bolting it in.
however; they will not fitinto the stock upper control arm you'll need to tweak that (drill new holes)
alright that shouldnt be too hard to do. thanks again
pie cut the upper control arm and bend the balljoint down 13-15 degrees then weld the control arm back up . will alow it to lay on 20s
you will need to do that if youdon't wish to use spindles.
a big benefit to pie cutting instead of spindles is that the suspension will camber sooner and giveyou better clearance...especially if you don't have (or can't get )wheels with a 7" backspacing.
it will allow you to clear you fenders with a bit less.
