Me and one of my friends are trying to do a stock floor body drop on a 93 sonoma extended cab, I was wondering if any body has pics that might help.
you do relize you have to cut the hell out of your frame right? im not hatin, just need to know what you need to know. Basically im gonna try to give you some of the readers digest version. now theres a problem of there are alot of ways to do it but i like this one. first you the inside portion and top portion off of the rest of the frame. start the cut directly right of the foward most cab mount. then you lay 3x3 down the inside of the frame dont remember how long then you can order a 2x3 backhalf or build your own. you also have to cut you front frame horns then lower and reweld depending on your body drop. After that if you are still interested let me know and i'll have a friend on here teach me how to post pics. once again not hatin, hope this helps.
Just your truck til you get the desired drop
if you guys hafta ask a question like that, should you really be doing a stock floor b/d ?
I agree with Ken and Charles. But it seems like once a week someone ask this damn question. If you have to ask and really want to do it yourself then you'll be better off just buying the bolt on one from suicidedoors.com
yeah those bolt on body drops from suicide doors are amazing. it fit like a dream. i dont think they know what theyre talking about thought, because i didnt need the damn butter knife!!
well instead of talking shit!!just direct to the other thread that may help them!!i didnt kno a damn thing about baggin when i did my truck but im a good see and then do kinda person...
it just doesnt seem realistic to try to write step by step how to bodydrop something. You should really find someone that has dome something like that before and get there help w/ your's. For a stock floor, measure how much you need the cabl to drop, cut that much off the frame, gussett the hell out of it, build a new trans tunnel, cut your bumper supports, move them down the same amount, relocate everything in the engine compartment that hits the wheels, and then bodydrop the bed a little bit more then you did the cab and fill the gap w/ washers or spacers. Its no where near this easy like it sounds, you could run in to all types of problems like steering or wiring. S-10's are some easy trucks to bodydrop, im suprised suicide doors doesnt have all the templets cut out for you to weld right in already. GL and if you need help start your own thread w/ lots of pictures. GOOD LUCK!

every starts some were, You just gota becareful you dont start more than you can finish thats why alot ?'s need to be asked before you start. Even tho its called stock floor you strip out alot of stuff and do alot of cuttin inside and out. and most s10s or sonomas are basicaly the same design. BASICALY THE SAME some results may veryi used 2x4 1/4in box tubing and you gota remake all the crossmembers under the cab.and thats only a small part of it.
Nobody is talking shit. I was simply saying that a stock floor body drop is not necessarily something that can be explained on SSM. But if they spent 2 seconds searching SSM they would find many many many threads already started asking the same thing.
