Ok so I get ready to bag my 05 crew cab but before that I put my 02 lowering kit on it so I would have the A arms already installed.
I take it for a test drive and hear this grinding when I hit a large bump. Come to find out it was the driveshaft(which is huge and aluminum)hitting the crossmember.
I can deal with the fuel tank x-member but the one further up looks like an issue. Just wondering if someone has done one yet and give me some pointers or ideas. When I bag it.....looks like im going to have to raise the transmission hump slightly

Your driveline is hitting the x-member under the back of the cab or a body x-member. The Easiest way to fix it is to get a 2 piece out of a 99+ extended cab shortbed and put a carrier bearing x-member in, works great.

Mine has the same problem. So the two piece will fit right in?

it hits both.
I talked to Mitch at Ekstensive and he said just to notch them both and it will give me the clearance I need. So I think I will do that before I start swapping driveshafts. Thanks for the help though, I will post pics when Im done.

Mine hit bolth also. You can notch them but if you want to lay just get the 2piece. After I notched bolth the driveline hit the back of the cab hard. It will be easier to get the two piece. Yes it will go directly in they have the same wheelbase and thats whats in mine.
