Im not sure... mostly cause I dunno where 2.5" gets you too?

Im 1.5" away from my doors, I went into the rocker pretty good, and I lowered my motor an inch or so... It looks like I MIGHT be able to keep the stock hood, might have to mess with the intake mani a bit, but it might clear it.

we went 2in on a buddy of mines and cleared the hood. its tight but we didnt mod anything under the hood except the rad location.the intake mani just misses the hood. soooo if you lower the motor you defiently could.

that put us to the pinch...

yeah i got 2 3/4 inch, and mine clears. I had to cut some of the webbing out over the carb, but it fits.

this is 2/34, and like i said up there, I had to cut some webbing and get a different valve cover with the PCV valve coming out the front instead of out the top. and it lays perfect rocker, flat..

if i remember correctly 2.5 will lay pinch welds on the ground. you can keep stock hood, cutting out bracing. or you can get a sidedraft carb setup and fully cut off pinch and lay full rockers with no probs.
oh and i forgot if you lower your motor mounts, you dont have to cut hood bracing

yep, slice the motor mounts and drop the motor about 1/2 inch, anymore and it will hit the steering cross shaft with the oil pan, and you wont even have to cut the webbing.

2.5 will lay rocker if you drag/cut off some of th efront crossmember that hangs lower than the frame, and if you actually make your truck lay frame.

Oh I forgot, you have to cut the lower crossmember a bit to clear the oil pan.
