post up your painted blocks!

for any of you guys that have painted your motor, post it up. I am trying to figure what color I want for mine. Post em up! even if its not yours, if you just have pics. just give credit where its due.

What type of paint is everyone using to paint there blocks with?? I heard that you can just use a base/clear and it will be just fine??? Any truth to that??

either epoxy or etch prime it first. but i have heard of some people just spraying the base on it (enamel i think though)

here is mine its painted in acrylic enamal for the block. the valve cover is done in a two stage metallic green as well as the radiator. not quite sure how the radiator is gonna hold up but i did it anyways.





the pictures were taken with my phone so the quality isnt the best but it gets the point across

not a base clear, you can use a Single Stage or acrylic enamel because it gets harder as it gets hotter

the motor doesnt get hot enough to fuck with paint if its running right...

Thats one of the awesome things about the 'edit' button right above every post. But to help you out with future post when using photobucket...copy and paste the 'HTML Tag' not the 'IMG Code' which is what you did.

mine's cheap omni single stage factory pack black on the block, ppg base/clear silver & hok kandys for a lot of misc accesories. the heat doesn't affect anything.

and the engine compartment looks a lot different now, but it might give you a little bit of an idea
