Anyone done the bodydrop, i guess it'd be traditional, where you cut the whole floor out and scrap that, then build a new floor out of 1x1 and some sheetmetal?
If so, anyone got pics and info on it, tips & suggestions etc?
I am gonna move back to oklahoma but before that i am selling my truck, buying another xdawg with a carb, and a single cab also.
The single cab is the one i wanna do this bodydrop on.
i also was thinkin of doin a 3" stockfloor, 3" traditional, and about 2-3" of chop top with the B-pillars leaned forward on the single cab....
Any suggestions on any of this? pics? tips and tricks?
Thanks

Check out Coreyes profile. IllAirgasm. He did his Mazda that way. I have a step by step on a traditional, but I didn't build a frame under the floor. I just raised the stock floor and rebuilt the front half and tranny tunnel.
yeah i was lookin at his profile.
i remember doing this on my X truck club presidents 82 chevy crew cab dually, but we never got to the point where we put the interior back in.
will all the panels line up if i did it that way?
Thanks

The whole point in building a new floor is to make it lower profile, and to re-do the stock body mounts due to little space in a stock floor-which would be a good idea if your diong a chop
But theres really no point in building a new floor if it's still going to be raised, i mean, whats the point??
It's a fair amount of work and no, you can't expect all the interior to fit back in like stock...but are you expecting it to fit like stock after to chop too?? haha Cuz it obviously wouldn't
when id id my first bd i used a step by step i found on the web of a 88-98 stock floor with like 30 steps. i read through it twice. went outside and cut my truck up with the plasma and a week later it was put back together on the rockers and it was solid as hell. i wish i would have just made a new floor and ditched the brackets on the seats to sit lower cuz i only had like 3" of headroom and over any bump i hit the roof.
the price you pay to be the lowest haha
