you have to sand down the lense so it is flush with metal before you spray anything

You measure out were you want them to be, then trace out the lens on the out side of the metal.

Center punch on both sides, drill them out then take a cut off wheel and cut out along the straight lines

On the back side weld small bolts (that fit the light) to the back of the sheet metal to mount them.

mount them up then sand down the lens so it is flush with the sheet metal.

tape them off, then paint the truck.

Pull the tape off then clear over them as you clear the rest of the truck.

Ok sounds easy enough. But for another question, I'm a painters apprentice. And if you have the slightest little crack the clear will bridge in it and eventually crack. You think the will be an issue or no?

I have never seen it happen personally.

When you sand it down you will have to block it with fine sandpaper to get it real close so I would say it shouldnt be a problem but that is something I would talk to your painter about it I am sure he has shot enough to know tips and tricks

Also there is an ask Fraser forum on here and he has dealt with that many times. He is good as answering those threads.

I would repost this in there. Let him know the details of the paint and clear you are using, chances are he can set you straight.
