i raised my gas tank so much i had to cut the cabfloor above it and built a full frame width crossmember under the front of the tank. I drag my shit constantly and have never had a dent or scrape in the tank. Fuck it, s10's are the cheapest trucks on the road.
i guess everybody else is just too lazy to cut the cab and raise the tank a couple more inches.

either way that truck is done, build a new one, make it better, and for god sake PLEASE drag that shit, dont let one burnt mini stop you from draggin. And for the draggin haters, i will say i agree on this... when we are at a big show watchin people drag by, i cant help but be a little worried for the people standing on the side of the road, because I know how loose a layed out truck can be, i definitely think people should be more careful.

One more thing from me. I wasn't trash talking dudes, that's weak to talk smack about someone who almost got got by a burning truck for sure, only a douchebag would do that. The story just didn't add up when I read through everything, and wanted a better explanation. And for everybody suddenly whipping out these "only drag at shows" cards and 'drop and destroy stickers are the worse', go eat a fat one because you all know if this incident never happened you'd be yelling 'DRAG IT' next bagged truck you saw, regardless of the location. Get over it, really...
I'm glad everyone is okay and ya'll are lucky to be alive. There, I've said my worthless second opinion.

for every one out there who dont know the complete story here it is. first off they did raise the gas tank in front and the back and did not drag the truck with blocks. that truck was draggin complete frame and it drug hard as hell. for all those people who say its people like them that ruin this sport i disagree in full. these are the people who put there blood, sweat, and heart into the trucks they build. this truck was done right and yes they checked the gas tank to see if it would drag and it was way above the frame. but i have a quick question for those who dont drag. why do you bag your truck if your not going to drag it? no affence but dont we bag to drag and build something to be proud of. this sport is all about us as friends buildin killer trucks together and drag.

i have to call bullshit, for one it was said a shop built this truck, for 2 it has been said they have pics, for 3 it has been said there was a video, so if this is really true where is the proof, so once again bullshit

I have a bagged and bodydropped truck and I do not drag it. Since the e-brake did not work the best thing to do is lay it out, problem solved.
Sorry to hear about the truck. Good luck with the insurance.

What's important is that they are Ok and have learned from their experience. YOU SHOULD NEVER LEAVE THE GAS TANK UNDER ON A BAGGED TRUCK WHETER YOU DRAG IT OR NOT, RAISE CROSS-MEMBER OR NOT. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A FUEL CELL THEN RELOCATE THE STOCK ONE SAFELY IN THE BED.
