i know i always read about people on here trying to sell thier rides and recieving emails from people wanting to buy the cars without ever looking at it. ya, the ones where they offer to send you an $8000 check and you send back the difference shit.... well the funny thing is, that i'm trying to sell my daily and i got an email from someone wanting some info and wanted to know what my highest offer was so far. i replied like i would with any other potential buyer and gave him the info on the car. Well, sure enough, he relied back today with the same gimmick. i'll send you a check for X amount, and return the rest type of shit.... you know the drill.

So after i read this and laughed my ass off i got to thinkin, how does this actually work? i know the whole thing is a joke and a scam, but where does the "scam" come into play? anyone really know the details on this shit?

that happend to me i got a 25thousand dollar check. then the bank started asking all this questions to me then it came out that the check was a fraudulent check. and if the bank does check it and they find out later its a fake check they will come and look for you and make you pay for the amount they gave you. so when you sell just ask for a cashiers check or a money order that you know the money is really there

They send you a money order (fake) and then you cash it and send the item and extra cash back and then after your money and stuff is gone the bank calls you and tells you it was a bad money order, and then you have to cover it, so your out what you were selling and the cash you sent.

this is hilarious... you mean to tell me people actually give up thier cars for a $5,000 check and don't even wait till it clears? wtf is this world coming too, people are just stupid and that's why these guys continue to do it, cause there are so many dumb asses....

the reason i'm asking is because i was actually considering giving my address so they could send the check just to see what happens. of course i wouldn't even dare give my car away but i just wanna see if it actually came in the mail or not...

this happened to me and i asked for a cashiers check. the guy sent me a cashiers check that look just like a JP Morgan Chase Bank cashiers check. I sent the check a photo copy of the check to Maryland where the bank was located, and they called my banker and told him that the only way that they knew the check was a fraud was the fact that the number on my check had already been used for another cashiers check that they wrote. My suggestion is to not even mess with it because they will send you a check and it WILL be a fraud. Not worth risking private information over.

Last year when i was selling my hood and a bunch of other shit. i fell for it gave my address and they sent me 4000 bones in money orders for a 250 dollar hood, took em to the bank, knowing somethin was up and after acouple of calls they were fake. good thing i didn't send anything out. I've got some rims and a chip for sale right now, and i get those e-mails all the time. all i can do is laugh at how big of a fool i was, for almost falling for it. i'll post the next one i get.
