Get a 350 or 250 turbo fuck that 700r4 use one out of an old 70's nova or monte carlo then you ain't gotta worry about no computer bullshit. The V8's will have the 350 and the V6's will have the 250. If you want to pay for shipping I probaly could get you one cheap as hell.

th350, 200 and th400's have no OD, his gas mileage will be shit.
the 700 requires just a TCC lockup. you can get a pressure activated one from Painless for like 50 bucks.
