My dad used to have a 67 camaro with a 454ci in it. We guess it had around 500hp... at 60mph it would do burnout on demand!!! pretty scary but fun as hell!!!
I drove it one time from the street into the garage and that was really a beast!!

My uncle knew a guy with a GTO that had a blown big block. Claimed over 1000 horse on alcohol. Can't prove it, but that thing was scary fast. We sat on the floor in the back and held the rollbar because there was only one seat.

a few years ago i was at the state fair and got dared to ride the gravitron (story behind it is that the wall flew off of it the year before at the fair and sent like 10 people to the hospital) honostly i would say that was the scariest

Strangely enough, the scariest thing I have ever ridden in was an International Scout. A friend of mine had a really crazy 454 with a 200 shot and a 400 shot and he hit em both up the hill in glamis. HOLY SHIT that thing was insane.
I did have another friend with a mostly stock (including tires) '64 Chevelle with a really built 500 inch big block that would kill the tires untill aroud 80mph then once it got traction it destroyed the driveshaft.
Here in Hemet, the street races were a serious deal. If you didn't have a 10 second car, don't race. There's a Bug with a Merlin big block and a lowered Jeep with a blown 454. Many "scary" cars. It was really cool to see during it's hey-day.

i used to work at a car audio shop and a customer left their viper over the weekend to get a clarion touch screen dvd player installed. my boss asked what i was doing that night, i said nothing. it was friday the 13th, so i just figured something bad would happen. well, nothing did, and i got to drive the viper. if it was mine i would have been scared, but not even knowing who's viper this was scared me even more. i was in 1st gear, maybe 2nd gear the whole time. just touch the pedal and it started to get sideways. surprised we made it back to the shop.
