97 Dakota tran's

I have a 97 Dakota with the 3.9 V6 auto tran's. I was told that a 318 will bolt on this trans but what i would like to know is will the tran's work the way it needs to when i take out all the computer crap and electronics? i want to go to the old 3 wire hook up 318. any info will help,

97 didn't have a TCM so you shouldn't have any probs. be sure and check that the torque conv. will bolt up to the fly wheel before you drop in the motor. you might need to swapfly wheels.
