Ok, I know the basics of HTML and that but for the most part I build my websites with "page builder" from Yahoo!. It works fine but I am wondering what everyone else uses to build their websites. When I use page builder it can be a pain in the ass to add show coverage or other stuff with multiple pictures. The reason is you have to upload each individual picture, resize them down to thumbnails, make a link so you can view the larger picture and do it all over again for the next photo. Also, by resizing the photos all by hand and placing them where I want them they are not perfectly in line with each other. So you are talking hours of work for a lot of photos. Check out this page from my website.

Look closely, all the thumbnails are not the same size and they are not lined up perfectly. This is because I used page builder to build the site. You need no HTML skills to build the site but I want something better.

So what is out there that could make the process of adding mulitple pictures to a website easier and quicker?

photoshop has a built in album feature.. it will take all the pics, make thumbnails and everything.. you upload the files it makes and bam.

www.dropndrag.com is the perfect example, that is all they use. that is what it looks like. (the show coverage part)

as for the actual coding process.. i use notepad.

The gallery system on Layinbody.com and the one on my old website is really easy to use. Uploads folders instead of each photo. Easy to use and customize too. you can get it here...

Jason the way you explained how you do your site is exactly the same way i do my show coverage and my whole site.

I use microsoft frontpage and I create everything from stratch. The reason why you are getting different size thumbnails and out of a line is because each photo might be a different size?

In frontpage you can set the size of each thumbnail. I'm not used to the program you use so it might be different, so I really don't know what all to tell you.

Templetes are a really easy way to maintain a website and easy to use. The only problem with them is they are not very "custom" so no matter who else uses that same templete it will always have the same layout and design. Only difference is your header image and colors will be different.

Oh and if you want to get returning visitors, you might want to learn how to spell, you misspelled website in your subject title

I like gallery the best, it works well with many type of sites and allows batch uploading and such. I like 1.x better than 2, but either will work. Got over 10K show pics loaded on my site under gallery.
