Ok last night was a bad night for me.. My 02 ranger seen its last moment of pavement.. The 3.0 v6 blew a head gasket and started knocking like a MOFO.. So instead of rebuilding it I was going to do a wire harness and motor swap.. Now I need to know if it will work.. What else will I have to do if I do this? Will my transmission mount up to it or will I have to get a new tranny? Please let me know because I starting as soon as I find a V8 and a wireharness..

ull need to use the tranny from teh explorer. just get whole engine/tranny/harness. motor should bolt right up.

Will the 4.0 or 5.0 bolt up to the 2.5 mounts as well?

he'd need to get the brackets, theyre like 20 bucks at summit racing. the painless wiring harness would prolly make it easier to wire as well.
