guys im setting up my truck to tow my 28' camper, the camper has the plate set up now i can change it over to a goose neck or keep the plate.i just got back from a rv show and people were telling me to keep the plate set up because the truck would ride, handle and tow better.does that make any sence?i see every one on here running gooseneck set ups.does any one have a pic of a plate set up with a notch and bridge?thanks for any help given im a little in the dark about setting the truck up.
never seen a notch with a 5th wheel
I would stick to the fifth wheel hitch on the camper. With them being so top heavy I believe it will work better than going to a gooseneck. Are you building a monster notch or just using like a belltech bolt on notch? With the bolt on no problems just get the hitch with the rails that mount across the bed then you take the hitch out when not needed. You can also buy a goose neck one that will use the same rails so you have the best of both worlds. If you are building a notch make it long enough to bolt the rails to the top part of it. You wouldn't necessarily need to make the notch that wide just the top part.
its got a small notch in it now with the bags mounted in front of the axle,i want to go with the bags over the axle so im going to run a bigger notch so i was thinking of welding the hitch rails along the bridge bars that way i could pull the pins to take it out.
