Lifting the front of a new Z71?

Ok, one of my boys just got a 2005 GMC Z71 that he's gonna use for a tow pig. He just wants to lift the front of it to level out with the rear for now while money permits. I think it's like a 2.5" or 3" lift that they put on them, but we have no clue what they are using to do it. 4x4s are a new world to us and we know that lifting is the same concept basically as laying,(well kinda) but we just need to know what to get to level it out.
