Okay, so my brakes suck.... super mushy pedal, stops like a the truck is loaded, when it isn't. I put new carbon metallic pads on, along with new fluid. Adjusted the rear drums too, which made a marginal difference. Truck has hydro-boost.
I guess my question is or all you guys that drive these trucks, 96-2000 3500s, how does your brake pedal feel? I have never driven another one, so maybe this is normal. My old 2003 2500HD had great brakes, real firm pedal... it was hydro-boost as well.
My PS gets a little firm sometimes, at low engine speeds, could all this be related to that(bad PS pump)? Seems like the hydro-boost wouldn't really affect pedal feel, though...
I just want a firm brake pedal.
Any insight?
I am gonna rebleed the brakes today, got a new power bleeder... Then it is off to the dealer to get a new PS pump (I have a 2/24 bumper to bumper on this thing.)
Thanks for the insight, fellas.
