You gotta start somewhere man. You'll get a really good basis of knowledge there, and be able to move on to bigger and better things.
Yea and thats what I figured. Just having some expierence will get me in the door at bigger body shops
yeah hope everyhting works out for you. Thats cool that they are going to pay for your body tech schooling I ahd to pay for mine and throwing 20k down for school wasnt fun.
Good luck bro, don't pick up any bad habbits from Macco
Yeah Maaco isnt known for putting out killer paint jobs ....but you will learn from the painters some cause while the jobs rollin out daily dont look great they still know how to paint ...
reason maaco jobs look cheap is cause they are cheap ...cheap single stage paints usually & prep jobs suckballs cause its done hella quick in order for them to save money and roll the job out quick
Hey look on the bright side though...at least workin there ya wont ever get ya ass jumped for doin a shitty masking job and gettin paint all over trim and such...never seen a maaco job that didnt look like a blind guy taped it up LOL ...and ya will never have to buff anything unless something horribly went wrong lol
But like other dude said ....dont pick up to many bad habits to take to the next job but ya will learn there and get ya foot in the door
Well Havent heard back yet so im wondering if im not goin to get it... Im going to apply for a job as a forklift driver today... maybe that one will work out
a buddy of mine is a body man, he hates to spray, well he did all the body work and prep on a SHO taurus, he took it to MACCO, he talked to the painter, gave him a lil side cash to put some extra paint on, my buddy got it back, wet sanded it and buffed, car came out incredible, sold the car for 5k, told the peeps it had a 2k paint job
As long as you only bring them want you want painted it turns out real good cause they spray so much, their prep just sucks! My friend had his 4runner done their and all we brought was the sheet metal no trim no glass nothing to over spray. It still looks good 4 year later.
i had a civic painted there a long time ago. i had it ready to paint, lights removed etc. all they had to do was mask up the windows. and to be honest i didnt see any overspray like i was expecting too.. then i sold the car so i dont know how well the paint held up but it looked like they did a real nice job.
