"4 on the floor" usually refers to a four speed, but in johns case i'm guessing its for 4 doors on the floor.

you are 100% right... ive always known the 4 on the floor - 3 on the tree since i was lil becuz of my mom & pops hot rods.. it works for me cuz of the amount of door and its rodder inspired.
