I see everyones points about what motors would work better and it does make sense. But now I need to know what rear end to use with a 350, I really don't see the stock Mazda standing up to it. I do have a full size Chevy rear end from an old project that could be shortened if that would be the best way to go. So just toss some ideas my way please!

I got one out of a 76 F100. They also came in some Lincol Town cars I think. And those had discs. Really, a Toyota rear end will hold up fine. The Mazda should too.

Also, a Dana 44 would be a decent rear. They came in a lot of things. One being, Jaguar IRS. The center section is a Dana 44, so its pretty stout, and parts are readily available, such as lockers and gear sets.
