i know i should introduce myself and prolly tommarrow i'll find afew pics of the truck and post em up..

anyways i'm getting ready to rebuild my suspension on my 97 ram and i'm wanting to do a leverage setup at the same time... i've got a parallel 4 link setup with bags behind the axle at the moment.

pretty much what i'm looking for is geometry/design specs, tips, etc

i'll be handling the design, mocking up and i'll be having a friend weld it up as i trust a certified welder more then myself

BDs raise your bar mounts? weird.

You are gonna have to run the 2 extra bars on the outside of the rail if you have a parallel setup because your panhard will likely be in the way otherwise. You need a shackle at the axle to give it a double pivot. that way it can only push the axle up and down and not pull it to effect pinion angle.I did a setup on an s10 that had the SD 3 link. These are the axle mounts I made. Just a bar end and some tabs I laser cut...Just use a bushing in there. Then connect it to your bars with a shackle like so...All finished up it works nice...

To do the bars on the outside of the rails, obviously your bag mounts and rear bar mount will be a little different, but the shackle is the main thing to get right.

Here's a pic of a 73-87 Chevy the bars on the outside of the rails for an idea of how to do the bar and bag mounts...(I didnt do it..I think Outlaw Motorsports did this truck..I just found the pic on fullsize chevy.com the other day)

hope that helps with the basics anyways. I dont have any measurements that will be any good for your truck..

I have a ? on this subject, my little brother just got a truck and right now it has ladder bars and a panhard. If I were to remove the panhard and put a wishbone there and then put the lift bars in the back like iLLblazer did would that effect the pinion angle?

The lift bars have no effect on the pinion angle, unless something is bending!
The forward bars are going to lock in your pinion angle.
If your brother has a "ladder bar" or 2 link setup, putting a wishbone on top of that could be a disaster. Are the ladder bars on a pivot on the axle, or are they solidly mounted? If they can't allow the axle to pivot, then putting a wishbone on the truck will put everything in a complete bind when the suspension cycles, causing damage to either the frame, axle, link bars, or all of the above.
Of course, everyone has different definitions for ladder bars and such, so if you want to post up some pics we can probably come up with solutions.

I call it a ladder bar because thats what they called it, it has a pivot on top of the axle and bottom but the bar joints in the middle to form one bar like >-- with a pivot at each end

That's a cool setup because you can adjust the pinion angle, but it's still just like a 2-link in that there's only one pivot point on the frame. If you did a wishbone that didn't line up perfectly with the existing pivots, the setup would be in an automatic bind- bad news!
If you're handy (and from the looks of your truck, you are), a Watts link would be great. No binding issues like with your current panhard setup, and you can keep your ladder bars as they are. Good luck!

do a cantilever....here is one I designed for a good customer of mine....it will be laser cut from stainless and fully polished. with a horizontally mounted shock under the frame.
