V8 or V6 swap in B2200?

I was looking at a 350 SBC for my 1988 B2200, but that sounds like overkill to me for just cruising aound. So, would it be possible to take a newer 4.3 V6 and just switch some parts on it to make it carb'ed?
And would the universal mounts from Summit for the SBC work with the 4.3 with a little work?
a V-8 will not be overkill.
i would recommend the universal mount or make your own this way you canset your engine anywhere you please (into the firewall).
i was going to do a 4.3 but i'm in the process of doing a V8 in my mazda. to me it's not overkill and plus a V8 sound's better to me. I used the summit universal mount in mine worked great even with setting the motor back about 1 3/4 into the firewall. check out my profile their is a few pics.
you can take a v6 and v8 build them and the v6 will run with the v8 if built right but as far as sound wise id say goto a v8 but if you just want the power you can do a v6 and just build it
the v6 sucks. period. if you are goin through all the trouble to swap the engine/trans, make motor/trans mount, change driveshaft, wiring, fuel ect ect, why waste your time with a v6, that will cost as much if not more than a v8?
oh and if v6's were sooo cool, as some people think, why do so many s10 owners, swap their v6 for the v8?
