I wouldnt do it yourself if you wouldnt feel absolutly comfortable taking your child in it,

If you do feel like you could do it, where it would be completely safe for your child I would say go for it.

I didnt feel 100% Sure i could do mine myself. But i got some help from my brother and 40k+ miles later i have had Minimal problems. Nothing that was unsafe just hardware issues..

Goodluck..

and david, it will be really, really, REALLY rare that i have to take my daughter in it. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, so i'm not real worried about it, i just gotta practice on the welding. Even if i screw it up, i have friends that can come and un-fuck it. I just don't want to have them at the house when i work on it, cause it's usually around 1:30am or so. I've done everything else myself (Jon at DB Rods and Minis did the metalwork for the bag job, bagdx on here, thanks jon!!) and i had some help getting the bags installed, but i wired and plumbed everything myself, and was pretty proud having never done anything like that before. I've never had a problem with anything (course, i've only driven it about 3 months out of the 3 years it's been bagged, see profile pics)

Do what you can and feel comfortable with and let the shop do the rest.

I would say go for it man, you will feel much better about yourself if you do it yourself. Just take your time no rush and make sure everything is done right. Thats what all of us are for, to help you along with your build. If you have any doubts on something, post it up on here. Goodluck man.
