Truck looks awesome, and I'm sure DIB is doing some really clean work on it.
I'm confused though, I thought this truck was bd'd on 22's at showfest this year. Or was it not bd'd yet?
IMO, big wheels look sick on mini's. However, I think it takes more work and more ingenuity to lay door with a factory hood, or go into the door for that matter. At this point in time you have the same issues as laying body on 22's suspension wise, but now you have engine concerns, exhaust concerns, floor concerns. Just my opinion though.
can't wait to see it finished.
It takes all kinds. I love everything from a doored truck laying on 17's to a mini on 22's. Thanks DIB for keeping it interesting.
Congrats on stuffing a 22 up in there. Dragging, I don't see that happening. I see the tire being pressed into the hood to gently lay rocker in the front. But if that is what it takes then that's what it takes to physically put that diameter of a rim/tire on.
Duck, will you sign my new hat at reso?
Matt
Keep it up homie
Damn, so much hostility.
i think everyone will agree DIB is rolling out some seroiusly sick shit, the hardbody was bad as fuck, and this mazda seems to be heading down the same track.
I personally think the 22s look to big on the vehicle, i mean i fuckin congratulate you for laying it out on them for sure, it takes some skill, and time to do so, and you did it, but i just think it would look better with a smaller diamiater wheel and maybee a meatier tire...
none-the-less, congrats guys. IDK why a big deal is being made about the suspension not being bolted up....thats the easy part for sure.

The big deal with the suspension not being bolted up is that the wheel appears to be set really far in towards the center of the truck (where the curve of the fender doesn't affect height as much), and there is no camber (which adds height to the wheel). Adding suspension has the potential to cause all kinds of clearance problems. With that said, if any shop has the ability to prove to everyone that these problems can be overcome, it's DIB. I look forward to seeing their solutions to these issues, and whether they have a negative effect on driveability- positive camber at ride height, steering clearance, etc.I presume that, with rack and pinion steering, and equal-length upper and lower arms, these issues can be addressed...Good luck, and stop teasing us- get some more pictures up here quick!!
