have a 1970 chevy with the 2 piece drive shaft. have just purchased a very expensive one from classic performance due to having thrown 2 stock ones. think that the pinion angle is off. anyone know what the pinion angle should be? and i have also installed a slip yoke which did not seem to help. thanks

you want your driveline and differential to be as straight as possible. just mess with it till you get it as straight as can be. they do make shims if you still have leafs

You want your your driveline to be 40%/60% 60% being the carrie bearing to the rear end. Also you want your tranning to be about 3 degress down and your rear end to be 3 degrees yup. Also like BclassBD said do as well.

my friend is tearing up carrier bearings on his 95 fullsize like a son of a bitch because the pinion is off. so he put the glue you use to put in auto glass, around the carrier bearing which stiffins it up. wouldnt hurt to give that a shot too

its possible the rear end is pushing the drive shaft into the carrier bearing. bdroppeddak knows all about some 2 piece shafts...
