Your imagination will exeed anything anyone else could come up with for the front end. For the rear I'd shave it smooth but leave "mazda" and add a bumper made by you(do the same for the front so they look similar). Rotary motor to be really small/ narrow so the control arms can be nasty long for lift and you do not have to cut into the stock hood. 4 wheel steering with HRE or Fiske wheels or IRS. Do not chop the top, older minis look good with a high roof.
Remove the factory side markers and replace them with some from a new Acura TL, add in the body line behind them for about a foot. For tails, use early 90s RX7(flat ones with big circles). For paint you already said silver. Add a white stripe in between the side markers with a shadow on the top half to similate the bodyline running the length of the side of the truck.

I would leave the rockers and extend the front bottom of the bed to match the cab rockers.

Also extend the back of the bed just a little so it would flow better.

Cut off the bed tiedowns and smooth it all out.

Completely shave the ass end but leave the mazda in there.

smooth inside the bed with a wood bed floor and hide everything underneath, no holes.

build a one off front bumper so it flows better.

I would run prolly 18s and 20s smoothies and make it so I could reattach the caps so they still look like a steel wheel only bigger.

paint it red again with a clean rod style interior..like a tan or little darker leather interior.

and maybe a newer mazda motor
